EURO APPLE PIE
EURO APPLE PIE is simple, classic dessert that is perfect for any holiday or just a fun weekend treat.
Delicious and comforting like your grandma’s hug.
It will create oohs and aahs and for sure you will become the powerhouse with Euro Apple Pie recipe.
So, if you want to bring the best pie to your family and friends, this recipe is the one.

Our first thing is shopping.
Let’s get ingredients or I like to call it…
SHOPPING LIST – TIME FOR FUN
- butter
- sugar
- flour (unbleached)
- apples
- coconut
- eggs
- lemon juice
- cinnamon
- apricot jam
- cinnamon
- baking powder
- heavy cream
- chocolate
STEPS TO MAKE EURO APPLE PIE
-Dough – Food Processor
-Divide dough (2/3 and 1/3)
-2/3 of dough will rest in the fridge
-1/3 of dough will go on vacation to the freezer
-Make Apple Filling
-Make Egg whites/coconut filling
-Pie Assembly
-Bake it at 350 for 30 minutes.
-Cool and enjoy.
ACTION TIME
Making the best OOHS and AAHS recipe called
EURO APPLE PIE
Ingredients
2 3/4 cups flour (unbleached) or 400 gr
1 cup + 2 TBSP unsalted butter (Organic)
3/4 cup sugar
2 egg yolks
1/2 TBSP baking powder
Apple Filling
8 apples (peeled and grated)
1 TBSP sugar
1 lemon (juice)
1 tsp cinnamon
Egg whites/Coconut Filling
4 egg whites
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup coconut
Apricot Jam
Decoration:
Whipped cream and chocolate
Instructions:
Line 9×13 pan with aluminum foil.
Spray with baking spray. Set aside.
Add to your food processor flour, butter, sugar and baking powder.
Pulse until coarse crumbs form.
Then add egg yolks and pulse until dough starts to form a ball.
Form dough into a ball, then divide into 2 uneven pieces.
2/3 + 1/3
Wrap 2/3 part of the dough in plastic wrap and keep in the fridge for about 45 minutes.
The second, smaller 1/3 of the dough wrap in plastic wrap and keep in the freezer.
While the dough is resting in the fridge/freezer combo we can make apple pie filling.
APPLE PIE FILLING
To make the apple filling, saute the grated apples, lemon juice and 1 TBSP of sugar in a saucepan over medium heat for about 10 minutes. Add the cinnamon and stir all ingredients together. Set aside to cool.
While apple filling is cooling, let’s mix 4 egg whites with dash of salt.
As the whites turn opaque start adding 1/2 cup sugar.
IMPORTANT: Add sugar in small increments, TBSP by TBSP.
Continue mixing until egg whites turn into firm peak.
Add 1 cup coconut and stir until it is incorporated. Set aside.
Now you are ready to pie assembly.
Take larger piece of dough from the fridge and roll dough to the size of pan, 9 x 13 inch
Transfer into the pan. (picture 1)
Another option is to use your fingers. Spread evenly the 2/3 of the dough over aluminum foil and press it down with your fingers.
Spread apricot jam over the dough. (use as much as you want to)-Picture 2
Add apple filling.(picture 3) Top apple filling with egg whites/coconut mixture.
You are almost done.
Take 1/3 dough out of the freezer and grate over the egg whites.
Bake at 350 F for about 30 minutes.
Remove from oven, top with icing sugar and cool it.
Cut into desired size. Top with whip cream or chocolate.
