The Best Baked Apples-Healthy Recipe
Ingredients
3 apples
1 vanilla sugar
3 TBSP brown sugar
Water to cover the apples
1 cup walnuts, ground and chopped
Decoration: heavy cream, maple syrup or honey, ground walnuts
INSTRUCTIONS
Peel the apples, keeping them whole.
Core the apples using the apple corer. Be sure to remove all the seeds. (check the picture 2 below, the seeds are not removed. Can you see it?)
Bring water, brown sugar, vanilla sugar to boil.
Then add 3 apples and cook for 10 min.
IMPORTANT: Please, do NOT over cook the apples. 10 minutes should be enough.
Then, carefully take out apples into the baking pan and fill the apple holes with ground walnuts.
Reserve syrup from apples or set aside.
Bake apples at 350 F for 10 min.Then pour reserved syrup over apples and leave them to cool.
When you are ready to serve, check the options below.
Garnish your healthy apples with whipped cream, maple syrup, honey and chopped or ground walnuts.

STORAGE: Keep it in the fridge.
Quick Note
Apples – You can use Granny Smith apples or any firm kind. I like using the organics apples. (you don’t need much sugar for them)
Brown sugar – if you don’t have brown sugar, you can use the regular, white sugar
Vanilla sugar – you can buy in any food store, check the baking section. (Walmart, Superstore, Safeway…)
IMPORTANT – Again, do not over boil your apples.
In case you want to make this recipe for very large family, you can easily double or triple the recipe.
