Yes, the poutine is delicious, simple and easy recipe to make. You don’t need 100 ingredients to make an amazing lunch or dinner.
In this case you need only 3. Also, I am not going to talk about calories or how healthy the recipe is for you. (so let’s not talk or think about it).
This post is all about JOY.

In 1957. the restaurant owner in Quebec took a special order from a regular customer asking for a plate of fries topped with cheese and brown gravy. The owner called this dish poutine which is local slang for “a real mess”. To learn more about this recipe, please check the LINK.
So, let’s start with the ingredients you need to buy.

MAKING EASY CANADIAN POUTINE
Ingredients
6 large potatoes
1 package cheese curds
1 can of St Hubert Poutine gravy
INSTRUCTIONS
Peel potatoes and cut them into sticks about an inch wide. (or any size you like, just make sure they are uniform)
Soak them in a large bowl covered with water for 30 minutes. (LONGER IS BETTER)
Your next step is to drain and dry potato.
From this moment you can fry or bake potatoes.
I like to bake because it is healthier option for me.
Preheat oven to 400 F.
Using a large bowl toss the fries with 3 TBSP oil, salt, pepper and oregano.
Arrange potatoes on a baking sheet and bake for about 35 minutes.
Be sure potatoes is baked.
Making Gravy
Pour the gravy from the can into a medium saucepan.
Heat gravy until boils.
SERVING POUTINE
Arrange fries on a plate, top with 1/2 cup cheese curds and cover with the hot gravy.
Season to taste.
Enjoy and share.
Optional: Top with feta cheese, red pepper, onion, garlic.

Quick Note
Potatoes – Russet or use your favorite kind of potato. I always like to say: Please visit your local farmers market and support them.
Cheese Curds – Can be found in white or yellow color. White curds are the ones you want for Canadian poutine. I bough my from Superstore but you can order from amazon or visit Walmart.
Gravy – My favorite and number one choice is St Hubert Poutine gravy. Of course you can make gravy at home…if you have time.
IMPORTANT: And to eat poutine you will need – FORK!
