DESCRIPTION OF CHOCOLATE NUTELLA CREAM PUFFS
Light, creamy and fluffy. Yes, I know. This is your dream dessert. So elegant and so simple.
If you never heard about this French dessert, the classic cream puffs are filled with whipped cream. How lovely. And of course our recipe today is going to take cream puffs to a whole new level. Nutella Chocolate Level.
The filling for this recipe is made of only two ingredients, Nutella and heavy cream. Since Nutella is asking for chocolate…well we have the chocolate icing. How perfect!

SHOPPING LIST
- flour (all purpose, unbleached)
- butter
- eggs
- heavy cream
- Nutella
- chocolate (semi sweet or your favorite kind)
- oil
- vanilla extract
- salt
Equipment Needed for this recipe
Mixer (I used KitchenAid mixer)
Mixing bowl
baking sheet (12 by 16 inch)
ACTION TIME
MAKING Chocolate Nutella Cream Puffs-French Best
Ingredients
3/4 cup water
1/4 + 1/8 cup butter (unsalted)
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup flour
3 eggs (large size)
Nutella Cream Filling
1 cup heavy cream
Whip It (optional)
3/4 cup Nutella
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Icing
1 cup chocolate chips
1 TBSP oil
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 F.
Line baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat.
In a medium saucepan, on medium-high heat bring water,salt and butter to boil.
Quickly stir in the flour with a wooden spoon.
Continue to stir until mixture until mixture pull away from walls of the pan. (3 to 5 min)
Remove from heat and transfer into a bowl to cool slightly, about 5 min.
Add eggs, one at the time, stirring vigorously until well incorporate into batter.
Important: For this step you can use the mixer. (if you want to)
It will look like this (check the picture below)
Transfer the pate a choux to a large pastry bag. Pipe 2 inch rounds each into prepared pan. (or the shape you like).
Bake puffs for 30 min, until they rise, and golden brown in color.
Let cool on sheets on wire racks.
Puffs can be stored at room temperature for up to 1 day.
Making the Nutella Filling
Mix heavy cream and Whip It (if using) until firm.
Then add Nutella and mix until incorporated. (just a few seconds).
Then add the vanilla extract and stir with the spatula or wooden spoon.
Now, if you have your cooled puffs and Nutella filling you are ready for the next step.
Chocolate Icing
Melt chocolate and oil using the double boiler method. Set aside.
To Assemble
Gently cut the tops off the cream puffs.
Spoon or pipe the Nutella filling into empty shells.
Cover with the top.
And you are almost done.
Cover the top of cream puffs with melted chocolate or dust with icing sugar.
Refrigerate until ready to eat.

Quick Note
Eggs – use large, organic eggs (Farmers market or your local store)
Heavy Cream – I used 35%
Nutella – My favorite place to buy Nutella is the Costco. (the best price)
WHIP IT – Dr. Oetker product which is the cream stabilizer.
Butter – unsalted (use your favorite brand)
