DESCRIPTION OF EASY LAZY LASAGNA RECIPE
Let me repeat myself again: This is the easiest total beginners casserole recipe. So, you are welcome.
To make this lazy lasagna recipe you need only 4 ingredients and they are very basic: store bought ravioli, shredded mozzarella cheese, pasta sauce and your favorite basil pesto. You can prepare it in less than 10 minutes. Yes, it is really quick to put together.
This recipe is an excellent recipe to make on Saturday and pop in the freezer for happy Wednesday or any busy day during the week when you need it. Also, you can bake it after assembling or you can freeze it. The choice is yours. I like to make 2 or 3 lazy lasagna recipe on Saturday, bake one immediately and froze two others.
Since you are ready for baking, let’s start with my favorite activity called shopping. All you need to buy is under the title called…
SHOPPING LIST
- frozen ravioli (buy your favorite brand)
- pasta sauce
- shredded mozzarella cheese
- basil pesto
EQUIPMENT NEEDED
9 by 9 baking dish (or 8 by 8)
ACTION TIME
Easy Lazy Lasagna Recipe (for Total Beginners)
Ingredients
1 bag of frozen ravioli
2 1/2 cups pasta sauce (640 ml)
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup of basil sauce (store bought or homemade)
INSTRUCTION
Preheat the oven to 400 F.
Spray 9 by 9 dish with baking spray.
Add a layer of pasta sauce on the bottom of the dish.
The second layer is the star of the dish. The ravioli.
So, add or place ravioli one by one until covers the 9 by 9 dish.
Then pour another layer of the pasta sauce so that you can’t see the ravioli. (or our diva ravioli)
Your next step is to add the shredded mozzarella cheese. (as much you like)
Be sure that mozzarella cheese is over the entire layer.
Then repeat the layers.
Add second layer of ravioli and cover with pasta sauce.
Finish with last layer of the shredded mozzarella cheese and basil pesto.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 400 F for 50 minutes.
Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
Cool it for 15 minutes and serve.
You can serve with my favorite Healthy Greek Salad or Summer Tomato Fresh Salad-Balkan Shopska Salata

HOW TO FREEZE Easy Lazy Lasagna Recipe
IMPORTANT:
If you want to make it into a freezer meal use the freezable container and follow all instructions for the recipe.
Secure with lid and freeze for 3 weeks.
Thaw for 45 minutes before baking.
Bake at 400 F for 60 minutes (covered) + 15 minutes uncovered. (or until cheese begins to bubble)
Quick Note
Ravioli – use your favorite type of ravioli. I used frozen spinach and cheese but you can use meat ravioli or any kind you like.
Mozzarella – if you like and if you don’t have time you can buy from the store already shredded cheese. I don’t. I like to buy the mozzarella cheese and grate it at home. If you want to learn the secret how to grate cheese at home check the IMPORTANT note below.
Basil Pesto – for this recipe I used the combo of the store bought basil pesto Classico and homemade 5 star cookies recipe.

Secret or how to shred mozzarella cheese at home?
Stick it in the freezer for 15 minutes. After that is super easy to grate.
