Our recipe today is the solution for all problems we have in our real life. (just kidding)
Yes, you know what I am talking about. The Cookies.
Cookies will save the world or Seinfeld will say: Look to the COOKIE people.
So, let’s start with one cookie at the time.
And for today it is one and only…coming from New York…
BLACK and WHITE COOKIES.

B&W Description
They are perfect cake like cookies. (did I confuse you?)
Yes, eating black and white cookies is like eating the cake in a cookie form.
Add to that unique combo of white and dark icing and you have a winner.
The cookie winner for you from New York.
Making these B&W cookies is super easy as long as you have KitchenAid mixer. (or any mixer)
The most important ingredient for this recipe:
Sour Cream. Use 14%.
The sour cream is what makes cookies so soft and unique.
Does size matter for B&W?
Now, if you are asking about the size of the cookies…
You can make this cookies very big like 5 inches in diameter or you can make mini version.
It is your choice.
If you want to make 5 inches cookies you can bake only 5 cookies in the baking sheet.

- butter (unsalted)
- sour cream

- light corn syrup
- lemon

Making Black and White Cookies from New York
Ingredients
1 cup butter, unsalted and soft
2 cups sugar
2 eggs, large
1 TBSP vanilla extract
1 cup sour cream (14%)
4 cups flour, (all purpose, unbleached)
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder (no aluminum)
1/2 tsp salt
Black and White Icing
3 cups icing sugar
1 TBSP lemon juice
3 TBSP light corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 TBSP water
1 1/2 TBSP cocoa
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Bowl #1 – Dry ingredients
Whisk flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Set aside.
Add butter and sugar to a large mixing bowl. Use a paddle attachment to mix.
Beat until smooth for about 2 minutes.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract.
Beat on high speed until incorporated.
Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
Reduce to low speed and add flour mixture in 3 addition, alternating with the sour cream.
To clarify: flour mix- sour cream – flour mix – sour cream – flour mix.
Be sure that all ingredients are combined well.
Use 1/4 cup ice cream scoop, scoop mounds of the dough onto the baking sheep.
Space well between cookies (3 to 5 inches)
Bake the cookies at 350 F for 14 minutes. Cool it.
Making Icing
Whisk icing sugar, corn syrup, lemon juice, vanilla extract and water until smooth.
Add more water, if needed.
Place half mixture into different bowl.
Then add cocoa.
Whisk until incorporated and smooth.
Icing Cookies
Spread white icing with spatula over half the cookie. Let it set for 1/2 hour.
Then spread chocolate icing over the other side of the cookie. Let stand until set.
The New York Black and White cookies can be wrapped individually in cellophane or stored between layers of parchment in airtight containers at room temperature. ( 3 days)
